Each piece is carefully handmade in Vancouver. Our method takes inspiration from the Japanese Kurinuki technique. The word literally means ‘carving out’ to create a vessel. We use this technique combined with our methodology to encourage the idea of spontaneity and being ‘alive’.
The pieces focus on the interactions and marks of the maker. These marks are intentional and are of great value to the entirety of the ceramics. The more raw, textural and sculptural, the more successful a finished piece is believed to be.
